Hilary Zetarski
Director
Pre-K (Tuesday/Thursday)
This will be her
fourth year co-owning Harmony Hill Preschool with Kerri Childs. She holds a
Bachelors of Science degree from Texas Woman’s University in Denton,
Texas. Hilary is a Texas Certified Teacher with a
certificate in Composite Science. She is also a Licensed Child
Care Director with the State of Texas. This school year she will be
joining her colleagues in the Pre Kindergarten classroom 2 days a
week and Director on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
"It was
always my vision to create a learning environment where the students were
hands on and an integral part in their understanding of the world around
them. I believe children need to be presented with many types of
stimulating interests from music, cooking, science and imaginative play.
They need to feel secure, comfortable and happy to explore many
opportunities".
"Parents also
need to feel that their child is being cared for and learning in a safe and
loving environment. This is
what I create in my classroom and at our school. We are glad to have each
and every one of your children here with us. We hope we will make a
difference in the start of their early educational lives and make an
impression on who they become".
Hilary has
been married for 10 years to her husband Stephen and they have 3
beautiful daughters. Claire, is 8 and in the 3rd
grade, Sophie, is 6 and in the 1st grade and Emilia, is 2 and
is in Ms. Paula’s class here at Harmony Hill Preschool.
Kerri Childs
Director
Older 2's
(Monday/Wednesday/Friday)
This will be her fourth
year as co-owner of Harmony Hill Preschool with Hilary
Zetarski. She is thrilled to finally own the preschool building
with Ms. Zetarski and to know her beloved school is here to stay!
Kerri is a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.
She has taught and cared for infants and preschoolers in a licensed
day care setting as both a Lead teacher and Sunday school teacher for years
before starting Harmony Hill Preschool. She is a licensed Child
Care Director with the State of Texas and Kerri continues to further her
education in both business and child development.
Kerri is delighted to be
joining her teaching peers to plan exciting experiences for hands-on
learning for our 2-year-old classroom as well as being the school's
Director on Tuesday's and Thursday's. She especially looks forward to
meeting and getting to know the children and parents who are new to our
school. Her goal is to provide a safe, healthy and fun
environment in which every child is able to reach new accomplishments.
She wants each child to be able to learn new things, build healthy
relationships and be proud of who they are.
Kerri
has been married to Christian for 12 years and they have two
beautiful daughters. Emma is 9 and in 3rd
grade and Sara is 6 and entering Kindergarten at Cactus Ranch
Elementary. Both Emma and Sara are Harmony Hill Preschool
graduates.
Charlei Villagomez
Older 2's (Tuesday/Thursday)
Charlei will be taking care of
your 2 year old's at Harmony Hill Preschool this school year on
Tuesday's and Thursday's and will be sharing the classroom with Ms.
Kerri.
Ms. Char has a degree in Psychology from Southern Oregon University and has
over 15 years of experience working with children. Before coming to
Harmony Hill Preschool Ms. Char was a Director for a Before and After
School for the U.S. Navy and most recently a Coordinator for the City of
Rancho Cucamonga's Playschool Program in California. She has been
helping out at our preschool since we opened in Spring 2007 and was made a
managing partner to help with the continued growth of this fabulous
preschool!
Ms. Char's goal is to make sure your child has fun while learning in a safe
and loving environment. She is a true advocate of learning in a fun
setting and is a HUGE fan of reading, so books will be read to your child
every day they are here!
She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Leonard, for 11
years. They are the proud parents of Kamerin who is 8 and in the 3rd
grade and Zachary who is 6 and in the 1stgrade. Both of her kiddos are graduates of
Harmony Hill Preschool!
Deslyn
Hamon
Pre K
(Monday - Friday)
Deslyn Hamon comes to
us as a Texas
Certified Elementary and Special Education teacher. She has
over 8 years of experience working with children Pre-K through 12th
grade.
Ms. Deslyn’s goal is to provide a fun, safe and loving learning
environment for everyone. Structured play is at the core of the
daily routine. Ms. Deslyn will sprinkle in activities designed to
encourage your child’s creativity and the development of language and
math skills, friendships and independence. Pre-K aged children are
her passion because they are full of joy and wonder.
She has been married to her husband Brian for 12 years and they have
two boys, Ben and Seth, ages 9 and 3, who keep her busy. She is very
excited to be a part of Harmony Hill Preschool!
Sherry Nelson
Pre-K (Monday/Wednesday/Friday)
Sherry Nelson comes to us with over 10 years of teaching experience in
grades Pre-K through 5th grade. She is a Texas Certified Teacher in
All-Level Music. She has a
Bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State University. This is her second year at Harmony
Hill Preschool teaching in the Pre-K classroom. She have previously taught K –
5th grade music at Menchaca Elementary School in Austin ISD and
Double File Trail and Voight Elementary Schools in Round Rock ISD.
Ms. Sherry believes that every classroom is made up of unique
children that vary not only in abilities, but also in learning styles. The role of a teacher is to reach
the child at their level and to give them the tools they need to
succeed. To achieve this goal,
she will incorporate themes, integrated units, projects, group work,
individual work, and hands-on learning in order to make children active
learners.
Sherry was born and raised in Fredericksburg, TX. She has been married to her husband,
Keith, for 7 years and they have a 4 year old daughter, Shelby who attends
Pre-K at Harmony Hill Preschool.
They have lived in Round Rock since 2003 and are happy to call it
home.
Karen
James
(Older 3's)
Karen
James grew up in Lubbock, Texas and attended South Plains College.
Ms. Karen has recently been accepted into a program to work toward her
Child Development Associates Degree. She has over 18
years of experience working with 3-4 year old children.
Ms. Karen believes that each child is special and unique and have
impressionable minds that are able to absorb so much knowledge! She
is very excited to be given the opportunity to love and work with your
children. Ms. Karen will create a classroom environment that is
fun and stimulating, while being structured and nurturing. She feels that
God has given her the talent to work with your children.
Paula Leonard
(Younger 2's)
Ms.
Paula moved to Texas from New Hampshire 4 ½ years ago. She began
working with Harmony Hill as an Assistant Teacher, but we quickly noticed
something special in her. When a position opened up we offered her a
teaching spot in our Younger 2’s class. Ms. Paula has been a
perfect match! She has been familiar with our school for several
years.
Ms. Paula has been married to her husband for 9 years. Their
daughter Angelina began preschool here at the age of 3 and is a graduate of
Harmony Hill Preschool!
Ms.
Paula will create a classroom where your young child will feel safe and
valued. Ms. Paula will nurture them and help them adjust to their new
learning environment.
Paula
Kingham
(18 - 24 months)
Paula Kingham has been a Preschool Teacher for over 12 years. Ms. Paula has been with Harmony Hill
Preschool since 2007. One of
the things she loves the most about being with the youngest class is that
she gets to see the kids in the following years as they grow up and move
into the older classes. She is
a teacher who loves to stay on schedule because she thinks it’s
important for the children, but is not afraid to be flexible when needed.
With such a young class, most of them have never been to preschool and
around their peers. She tries
to teach them things like sharing, using inside voices and respect for
others. During lunch time she
always practices good table manners!
Most of all, Ms. Paula wants to create a warm loving environment for
the children where they are comfortable and excited.
Ms. Paula has
been married to her husband James for 17 years. They have 4 children, Kelley who is
20 years old and lives on her own now, Jordan who is 15 and in her second
year of high school and 9 year old twins, Ashleigh and Austin. Outside of preschool, she teaches
cake decorating and also enjoys sewing.
Jill Piersall
(Assistant Teacher)
Ms. Jill began
her child care career as an Assistant Teacher in a one year old classroom,
before becoming a Lead Teacher in a one year old classroom. She
worked as a 2 year old Assistant Teacher at Hutto Baptist Church before
coming to Harmony Hill Preschool. Ms. Jill says, “I love it
here and I love getting to help everyone and meet so many different
people”. She has a 3 year old daughter Kynlee, and a 9 year old son
Kaeden in the 3rd grade.
Jill Piersall was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. She met and married
her husband of 11 years, Matt there. They moved several times over this
time period before calling Round Rock home.
Kim De Araujo
(Substitute)
Kim De Araujo has a Bachelor
of Science degree in Marketing from Arizona
State University. Although her background is in
marketing, she is no stranger to the classroom. As the child of two
teachers she has spent A LOT of time in the classroom over the years.
Additionally, before she was married with children, she worked as a
volunteer to help develop weekly educational
program for at risk children.
Ms. Kim and her husband Dan
have called Round Rock home for four years and have two lovely boys, Luca
and Enzo, who both attend Harmony Hill.
Sonya Triplett
(Substitute)
Sonya Triplett
has over 15 years of teaching experience in a preschool environment.
She grew up in Florida and studied Early Childhood Development Education at
Florida's Melbourne Community College. Ms. Sonya has her CDA in early
childhood development and has hands on experience teaching 3 and 4 year
olds. Before coming to Harmony Hill Preschool Ms. Sonya was at First
Baptist Church's Wee Ones Mothers Day Program. She teaches with love
and helps them learn the fundamentals to be prepared for the Pre-K
class.
Ms. Sonya has been married for over 34 years to her husband Rich and they
have 2 daughters and a new grandson. She was our Younger 3’s
teacher this past school year, but has recently made the decision to step
down from that role to watch her grandson. We are so blessed to have her
stay on as a substitute for Harmony Hill Preschool.
Kristi Martin
(Substitute)
Kristi Martin is excited to be a substitute teacher this
year at Harmony Hill Preschool.
She holds a K-5 Multiple Subjects CLEAR Teaching Credential for the
state of California and has a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and
Instruction from Azusa Pacific University.
Kristi taught K-5 for 12 years in Palos Verdes, CA
before moving to Texas in 2006.
She is also involved in the BTSA program and enjoys working with
beginning teachers as a mentor.
“Once a teacher, always a teacher”, Kristi is looking
forward to getting back in to the classroom after taking some time off to
stay home with her daughter, Emma.
“I believe parents are a child’s first and most
important teacher in life.
It’s always been my privilege to partner with them to provide
students the best educational program possible. I also believe in Multiple
Intelligences and strived to utilize many different styles when teaching in
a classroom setting”.
Kristi has been married for 13 years to her loving
husband, Patrick. They have one
daughter, Emma, who will be in Ms. Karen’s class this year here at
Harmony Hill Preschool.
Cori
Prout
(Substitute)
Cori was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and have been happy to
call Round Rock home for the last 3 years. She has been married to Dave for
9 years and they have 4 wonderful kids. Sydney is 7 and is in the 1st
grade, Tyler is 5 and will be entering Kindergarten. Both are Harmony Hill Preschool
graduates. They also have
Audrey who is 3 and Reilly who is 2 and both girls are attending Harmony
Hill this year.
She has always had a great love of children and started her childcare
career as a baby sitter at an early age and continued looking after
children until her oldest was born.
She will be a wonderful addition to the family at Harmony Hill
Preschool!
