Are you a
Mom’s Day Out program or Daycare?
*We
are neither! Harmony Hill is a state-licensed
preschool with hours similar to a Mom’s Day Out program (Monday
– Friday from 9am – 1pm).
We utilize the Creative Pre-K and Frog Street Curriculum’s as
well as offer music, science and cooking classes. All of our teachers are required to
maintain continuing education courses and are CPR and First Aid
Certified. Additionally, our
Pre-K teachers hold State of Texas Teaching certifications.
Are
you open year round?
*Yes
we are. We offer our
traditional preschool from September through May and our summer
program in June & July.
Do
you prorate fees if we don’t start in September for the traditional
program or June for the summer?
*We
do not prorate during the traditional school year but we do offer a
vacation credit during our summer preschool. This is only offered in
the summer for preschool, not for camps.
Why
don’t you prorate your fees during the school year?
*Because
our monthly fees are based on an average to provide our program at
reasonable rates.
Do
you have to pay the registration fee every year?
*Yes. This secures a spot for your child
in our program. Once we
register a child, paperwork, time and energy goes into getting things ready
for your child to be a part of our program.
I
am planning on taking a month long extended vacation. Can we skip
tuition that month?
*No.
Tuition is due monthly, regardless of whether your child attends or
not. We do not prorate or suspend tuition due to vacation or
illness. If payment is not received by the 10th of each month we will
withdraw your child from our program. There will be a $100
re-registration fee applied to your tuition upon your return.
Why do you close
for a week in May and August if you follow RRISD?
*This week
gives us time to train our staff as well as deep clean our facility.
We allow our teachers this time to change over their existing classrooms
for a new semester.
Can my child wear
cloth diapers?
*No. For sanitary reasons, we will not be
able to keep soiled cloth diapers on site.
Does
my child need to be potty trained?
*Only
for children 3 and over who have graduated to a 3 year old classroom. We do diaper changes in our younger
classes and work on potty training along with parents.
Is your school
peanut free?
*Our
cooking classes are peanut-free. If a child is enrolled in a classroom who
has a peanut or tree nut allergy that requires an Epi pen, that classroom
will become a nut-free room.
Can
I drop my child off early or pick them up late?
*If needed, you can drop off as early as 8:30am and pick up as late as
1:30pm for an additional cost. This is only for emergency purposes
with prior approval from the director.
Can
my child be placed in an older class despite his/her age?
*No. Children are place in classrooms based on their age and the year
they will be entering kindergarten. Research has shown that children
thrive in a classroom with their peers rather than having to repeat a year.
Do
you take credit cards?
*Unfortunately,
we do not accept credit cards as payment. We only accept cash and checks.
You may also send checks directly through your bank account.
Can
you automatically deduct tuition from my checking account?
*No.
Is your school
accredited?
*No,
but we are a state-licensed preschool with certified teachers in our Pre-K
class and instructors with years of experience.
When can we tour
your facility?
*Tours can be scheduled Monday - Friday from 9:30am - 12 noon, unless we
have an early release day or class party. Please call us at 535-3292
to set up your tour!
*Our cooking classes are
peanut-free. If a child is enrolled in a classroom who has a peanut or tree
nut allergy that requires an Epi pen, that classroom will become a nut-free
room.
